Hotel and Residences Casa del Agua, located in Jeju Island, is designed by Legoretta + Legoretta. The local architect was Gansam Architects and Partners. Awarded 2010 Award for Best Hotel Construction & Design of the Americas Property Awards, in Association with Bloomberg Television and The New York Times, it shows signature style of Ricardo Legoretta with its boldness in mass, color, and natural lighting. The building was not opened to public when I visited back in 2015, hence the lack of interior photographs.

The project was most publicised when the court decided in favor of Booyoung Co. Ltd’s petition to demolish The Gallery: Casa del Agua, a part of the Casa del Agua project, in 2012. Sadly it was demolished in March 2013 (related article).

Area: 861,115 sqft (300 hotel rooms in 226,045 sqft., 200 residences of one and two bedrooms in 377,000 sqft.)
